Roland Santana, an alchemist space maker building foundational structures where connectivity has a dance floor and portals open unto pathways of joy. Reaching for completion as it never comes, Santana's work is always observing, catching a late night conversation or monitoring the DJ booth, all euphoric youthful interaction takes place inside of color and shape. Reducing lights to pattern and music to hue, the objects have made space for you to enter the circle and lose yourself in movement. Playing with time, Santana’s making depicts swift motions while simultaneously bearing the burden of concrete. Coating the unknown over and over to tell the story of today, the work holds its weight to stand it firmly in presence. Domestic building materials allow for familiarity as Santana makes them unrecognizable, distorting any possible past beginnings into a constantly evolving body. Please, follow the layers into Santana’s dimension of bliss and vibrancy where love is of highest value and support comes as a given. The limits are only the space itself while Santana depicts the inexorable and ever expanding joy.
